The oversized gold pouf is ideal for playrooms, casual family room or media room. Although an armchair may be small for some adults, larger sofas can accommodate the whole family. Unfortunately, these older cousins of the classic chair come with high prices. You can make your own beanbag foam filling quickly and easily with basic sewing skills, measuring for your space and your family fit.
Make the seams of the shell fabric extensions to create panels wide and long enough for your desired form of gold pouf. If you plan to make a round sofa 6 feet (1.8 m) in diameter, sewn two widths of 45 inches (1.25 m) of fabric together, each 2 yards (1.8 m) long, to the front side and back of the sofa.
Sew together two panels of outer fabric to create the top of your gold pouf. The outer fabric cover and inner lining should be the same size. Sew a hook and loop closure through each panel to create the back end of your pouf.
You will need enough hooks and loop tape to get from one side of your poof other. Draw the same pattern for the outer shell of your poof you did for the coating on the reverse side of both the top and the bottom.
