White ladder bookshelf - Shelving old staircase stairs used to create a shelving unit that can appeal to a variety of design themes. They are a very simple way to give life to an old staircase duplex and are something new in the way they frame. Pair a worn wooden staircase with wooden shelves recovered for a very rustic feel, or take apart and put the ladder shelves between the legs tense for a more conventional rectangular set of shelves. Open the legs of a wooden staircase sided until you reach the desired frame shape ladder shelves.
Measure the distance between each pair of rungs of the white ladder bookshelf. Shelves cut 3/4 inch plywood that is the distance between the rungs of the ladder plus 2 inches, the length of half an inch steps. For example, if the top rungs are 12 inches and the steps are 15 inches long, then the top shelf should be reduced to 14 by 14.5 centimeters. The shelves become longer as they move up the ladder.
Place each white ladder bookshelf on its corresponding rungs of the ladder rung 1 inch on each end. Assure steps with wood screws driven every 1 5/8 inches 5 inches or less along the ends of the shelves in the steps. Finish the shelves of stairs with wood finish desired. If you want to maintain a rustic atmosphere, leaving the shelves untreated or apply a wax polish. For a shabby chic room, white paint, then sand again in places with "relief" shelves.
